Must be a 999 special order paint code then as there was no Pearl Plnk pain code offered for the 3oo F's
Anyone have clue as to the VIN#??

Sold for $181k at Mecum Glendale 2020: https://www.mecum.com/lots/424596/1960-chrysler-300f-convertible/

It's a PP1 Car and that's "technically" Toreador Red, but in 1960 the factory was experimenting with metallic colors so I'd guess half the PP1 cars were actually this Rose Metallic. The 300 club has some documentation for this, and it's my personally favorite color for the F. I just finished one Rose 300F convertible and I'm going to be starting a gentle mechanical restoration on an all original Rose Convert next.

Vin for this car is in the photo gallery. Looks to be 8403133898. This is one of the cars restored by a guy in Houston area back in the 80's, and I think he was having the restoration work done in Belgium or something? I'm sure there's a thread somewhere talking about this. The cars he did are instantly recognizable because they all share some common features. Such as the polished stainless hardware on the inner fender panels and radiator support, they all have the chrome aircleaner/valve cover package (which was a special order option back in 1960), and they all typically have pop-riveted VIN tags. Nothing wrong with the body work or restoration quality typically, but they won't be winning any concour events.

The underbody is unrestored and ugly and both rear quarters are badly repainted below the molding. The engine oil pan is terrible. But a lovely car anyway.

Some questions to the data plate:

N1 – 311 – Air Conditioning and Heater (the car is not equipped with its option currently);
T7 – 427 – Radio Golden Tone and Rear Seat Speaker (more expensive Golden Touch Tuner Radio is installed at the moment; there is no Factory Rear Seat Speaker offered on the 300F Convertibles)
V1 – 441 – Solex Tinted Glass at all Windows

Hard to see a BDY spot: 845 should be Convertible, 842 – Hardtop; (T7 Radio code shouldn’t be present on the Convertibles)

The car has VIN 8403-133898 and SO NUMBER 05 23 1345 – i.e. Scheduled on May, 23, 1960;

The nearest VIN-numbers in my database are:
VIN 8403-133491 and SO NUMBER 02 29 – Scheduled on February 29, 1960
VIN 8403-137720 and SO NUMBER 03 07 – Scheduled on March 7, 1960

The VIN 8403-133898 located between them, and this car cannot be built on MAY 1960…
Is the data plate wrong?

This car seems to have a hard time finding a forever home.

Something really haywire here.
The 300 club roster shows #133898as being a WW1 car, white.
I seriously doubt that that body tag is from that car.
Paying that much money for that car without FULL DOCUMENTATION is insane.
Maybe Dave G. had a hand in this one??

The club has the IBM cards for most of the letter cars so they should be able to match up the SO number to the VIN.

crazy discrepancies... look like one of those convertibles made of one hardtop... Yes, the oil pan was used to jack up the car, just imagine all the flaws hidden for this quarter million dollar car.
