Expert Posts: 1886 | I flew in to look at the car. Really neat piece. The front doors and fenders have been repainted at some point. Outside of that, it's a pretty original piece. Weird car to value. Hope it doesn't get restored, whoever buys it.

Veteran Posts: 258 Location: Kansas City | Can't believe all the time I spent in Wichita as a kid, around Chrysler people, that nobody ever knew anything about this car. What an incredible find. Agree with Mike, I sure hope it is just preserved and not restored.

Expert Posts: 1886 | Nick Nichols - 2023-08-25 6:09 PM Is it up and running? Any known issues? It runs but has only moved 500 miles in 34 years. Driver front fender had something dripping on it, which ended up with small holes on top of the fender.

Location: The Mile High City | Very cool! Are the fender birds pretty rare on 58 New Yorkers or is it the hood ornament that is the rarity? Apart from 58 New Yorkers being pretty rare all by themselves!

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9787 Location: So. Cal | '57-'58 New Yorkers didn't get hood ornaments (apart from the plastic ornament on the '57's), they only could get the fender ornaments if you paid for them. The 2-piece hood ornaments were only available on the Windsors & Saratogas, and the fender ornaments weren't available to them.
