I'm not sure that he was on our forum Jocke. Aivar was a great guy, eager to show and share info about his cars. We met him in 2011 together with Gary.

May the light shine upon his family in this difficult times. He will surely be missed!

Deeply saddened by this news. Aivar was a fine man and passionate about ForwardLook and other cars. Condolences to his wife.

I only met him in person once, briefly.  He was very nice to me and wow! the cars he owned!  He was a great enthusiast, especially for the ForwardLook years.

Aivar was a great guy. I met him in Tulsa for the Miss Belvedere unveiling.

Here's a video of Aivar and the 60 Polara that he restored, shot by his daughter:

I’m still shocked by the news! Aivar was a great guy, very generous and passionate about the forwardlook cars. I feel lucky I had the chance to get to know him and attend car shows with him and his friends over the years. He had one of the most impressive forwardlook car collections out there. Always enjoyed talking cars with him. He had these sayings like if you told him you liked his car , he’d say “ you have good taste!” Or if he described one of his cars or the parts on it he’d say there made of “ unobtainium” always made me smile. He will be missed, condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace Aivar!

Mike

I know Aivar hailed from Monrovia, CA - but I can't seem to find an obit. Does anyone have a link to one?

Joakim, can you provide the source of your information? Your post is over a month old now, but I can't find any corroborating evidence on the internet of his demise. It's not that I deny it, I just can't substantiate it. It seems very odd.

For those of you, like me, stunned at the news of Aivar Lejin's passing - here are some photos he shared with me, along with the My Classic Car episode featuring many of his wonderful MoPars.
