Location: Pacific Northwest | Here's one for everyone. Any and all suggestions and explanations would be greatly appreciated.
1962 Chrysler. Newly rebuilt and working alternator. (problem was the same before rebuild)
While driving and using the turn signals the right turn signal will flash "normally" while the left turn flashes but is slower.
At a stop the right turn signal will flash slowly and the left turn signal will stop flashing and remain lit.
There you have it. They work and illuminate so I assume grounds are grounding. They flash so I assume the flasher is "working".
Let me know what you think and I'll report back with what I find.
Now to fix that darn steering column grounding strip....ugh.

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | It could be that one of the lamps are of the wrong type, should be 1034 or 1157 lamps in all 4 corners.
It might also be ground problems.
Check also the turn signal switch or it's connector, might be bad contact.

Location: So. Cal | The fact that the left side is flashing slower means that you have extra resistance in that line. Is that worth pursuing? Maybe, but you would have to go through every connection to clean them up, and apply dielectric grease to them. When the car idles, the voltage goes down a little, exacerbating the problem, but is otherwise normal. A quick fix would be to install an electronic flasher which isn't as dependent on the resistances in the line, and would give you a more consistent flash, regardless. |

| Did you by chance install LED bulbs? I had a similar problem with LED’s in front and rear whereas all signal lights front and back flashed when I selected right or left turn. I checked every wire, ground and voltage at each socket, everything AOK. After scratching my head for a day and two or three electronic flashers I took LED’s out (one at a time), replacing it with an incandescent bulb. What I ended up with is incandescent in the front and LED’s in the rear. That is the way it will stay as I don’t feel like dicking around longer when this combo works.

Location: Eastern Iowa | Check for voltage at the terminals.
Corrosion within the wire length may be the culprit even if the terminals do appear clean. |

Yes everyone is alright, physically.
Hit and run on I5. Full tank of gas broke the straps upon impact into the jersey barrier and detached.
Car was fully engulfed in less than a minute.
I feel very lucky to be alive. |
