59 Plymouth engine swap
Author: narleycharlie (Show all albums) This is my 59 Plymouth that I have painted up like Richard Petty s (sort of) race car that he raced when he was 21 . He actually had a white car back then , that was before Petty blue . And since nobody knows him for his white car , I went with the blue . Got his autograph on the roof . trans finally went and the motor was weak , so we are pulling a poly 318 w/2sp installing a 1977 400 w/64 3spd p/b tranny . More photos to follow . |

These three shots are of when I mounted my 69 Newport rad with the engine swap . Radiator , fan shroud and clutch fan all from the 69 | Looks like it all belongs there , thats what I like about this swap , its all mopar parts and its all period correct looking , not that I m a purist by any means , it just that I don t like it when too many things/looks are going on at one time . Billet , chrome and originality all don t go together in my book . But thats me . | Notice the threaded rod I used to mount the rad to the support . I used the rod to space the rad so it would not come in contact with the support so not to rub a hole in it . Now that you see it . they will be painted . | Bought blue wires , don t know what I was thinking , don t like the look . They ll have to do for now .
