From the 'Standard Catalog Of Chrysler 1924-1990'

New 17-symbol VIN for '81

 

symbol 2 = Make --- C = Chrysler, A = Imperial

symbol 10 = model year --- B = '81

 

'82 is A = Imperial, C = '82

 

'83 is A = Imperial, D = '83
