Please leave it as is! With that kind of mileage...

If the car starts well, and the windows work, you have addressed just about 
all of the really critical issues on a collector car electrical system 
(headlights, etc are usually not a  6 vs 12 V. issue,  except they kind of 
"glow" instead of putting out meaningful illumination).

My 53 has a power seat; does yours? I have to "push" a little to make it 
work, but it does.
