IML: Pigeonholes and fluff

Not all eras of all car models can be named.  Even then, the designations
can be murky.  Those that were contemporaneous with the cars and have
survived to refer to a well-defined group of auto years and models emerged
from the pens of ad agency hacks.  But some categories can be too broad for
hobbyists and restorers, who need to be able to define like groups of cars
for the purpose of grouping them into classes.  Think "Forward Look" or "K
car".  Those that have become part of everyman's lexicon are likely to be
even less well defined.

I am proud to own two '66 Imperials that are neither "magically delicious"
nor "mountain grown".  In my biased opinion, they represent the finest
American-made automobile of that vintage -- the Crown Coupe being a
world-class luxury sport touring car.

If you are fortunate enough to own a car that can be defined in shorthand,
by all means go forth and be that.  If your car's features were never
summed up in an ad man's snappy phrase, perhaps you are better off for it.
