I haven't had the need (or experience) to refurbish the springs on our 1961, but I am sure there will be a ton of advice coming your way shortly from the club members who read your post.
 
Meantime, the www.Imperialclub.com site has quite a few comments from members about spring refurbishment stateside that might give you some options.
 
Take a look here:  http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Springs/rear.htm if you haven't already.  Regrettably, we haven't gotten a 1957 Factory Service Manual up on the site.
