Re: IML: Battery for a '56

Fredrick's battery idea is exactly the same as mine, the biggest, and best that will fit with the same terminal orientation. If you don't decide before Sunday (when I see my car again), I will post the one that is in my '56 Imperial.

I always try to get the biggest battery that will fit with the terminals in the correct orientation. I recently put one in my 69 LeBaron which is a monster, but it fits. Costco or Sam's are great places to get batteries. You can measure in your car the maximum size you can use and go into the stores and see how the different batteries fit.

It seems I've killed the battery in my '56
trying to start it after rebuilding the carb
(more on that subject in another post). Since
I'm almost positive that the battery that is in
the car is not the right size, I'm looking for
advice on what IS the correct size. Mind you
I'm NOT looking to start a big long discussion
on battery brands - we all have our favorites
- and I'm not looking for information on OEM
look-a-likes. What I need is the battery
number in today's sizing/labeling scheme that
the typical know-nothing behind the parts
counter can find.

Thanks,
Jeff
