Re: IML: '66 Imp Coupe Rear Main Seal

I am wondering what sort of oil leak you are thinking is more serious than a rear main. Nearly everything else would be a piece of cake compared to changing that seal. If the oil is coming down the back of the engine, valve cover gaskets, or the oil pressure sending unit are other possibilities. Compared to some newer cars that I have dealt with, engine oil leaks on a sixties something Imperial are pretty easy to fix.

Subject: IML: '66 Imp Coupe Rear Main Seal

Hey all. Getting ready to fix a major oil leak that I HOPE is the rear main seal and nothing more serious.

Got my kit, got the car up and will be doing this in the next couple of days. Does anyone have any tips I should know about? Thanks!
