RE: Re: IML: Cleaning under the hood of your Imperial

This is something I need to do to my engine compartment as well. If you
were to do this at a car wash facility, wouldn't they give you grief
about making an oily and greasy mess of the car wash port? I mean, all
this stuff has to wash off to some where right?

YEARS AGO I USED TO COVER MY CARB WITH A PIECE OF PLASTIC AND A HEAVY
RUBBER BAND TO HOLD IT ON, UNTIL I FOUND A PLASTIC COVER, MADE BY "MR.
GASKET", THAT GOES OVER THE CARB AND IS HELD DOWN BY THE AIR CLEANER
NUT. THIS MADE IT EASY TO CLEAN THE ENGINE WITHOUT THE WORRY OF WATER OR
CHEMICALS GOING DOWN THE CARB. STILL, IT AIN'T NO FUN CLEANING AN ENGINE
COMPARTMENT AND IT WILL LOOK BETTER WHILE IT IS WET THAN WHEN IT DRIES!
