I had the same type of problem with the clock in my '65.  The coil was fried.  I unwound the coil, counted the turns as i did and rewound the coil in the same manne  as original reassembled the coil cleaned the points and was back in business.  I have also on other occasions with the same type of clock where the holes in the brass frame were elongated.  Fixed it by super gluing a small brass strip that pushed the shaft back where it belonged.  It worked also.

The clock in my 64 isn't working.  A clock repairman examined it today and says the windings are fried, but mechanically it works.  I'd like to convert it to a modern quartz clock.  Anyone have experience with this type of conversion?  or, anyone with a working clock for sale?
