Re: IML: Car Cover for '66 LeBaron

NOAH is an excellent cover for indoor and outdoor use. Another good choice
is Covercraft's Weathershield, which has the added advantage of being
extremely compact when it rolls up. Both are very kind to the finish. If the
outdoor use is anything more than occasional, I would recommend NOAH.

As for the covers you see on eBay, a lot of them are universal fit, and some
of them seem to underestimate the size of a 1960s luxury car that's over 19
feet long. As for Technalon, it's OK but it dates to the early 80s and has
been superseded by some far superior fabrics, both for UV protection and
breathability.

I'm a big fan of Covercraft (covercraft.com) because of their quality and
fit, and feel that they are worth the extra money (how much does a paint job
cost?). I have had some of their covers for well over 10 years without any
sign of aging, and both the NOAH and Weathershield are super-easy to care
for. (You can hose either off while it's on the car and let it sun-dry (on
the car) without water spots, or machine wash them (helps to use a
triple-loader at a local laundromat). A long time ago, a business associate
and I put ten or so freshly detailed prototype cars used for advertising
photography under fitted Covercraft NOAH covers (when NOAH was brand new, in
the late 1990s), then left the cars outside for a wet Southern California
winter. Come spring, we uncovered the cars and they all looked like we had
detailed them yesterday.

Just my personal experience with and thoughts on the matter!
