Re: IML: No chryslers/Imperials at local car show?

Hi gang,
This year in montana i have taken the 55 to three shows.  In a show at greatfalls there were two imperials.  I meet the owner of the other and spoke to him about this same thing.  No one has imperials at show.  He said my 55 was the first he had seen in a long time.  There are several of us in billings with imperials.  When we do go to a show there are 3 or four imperials ranging from 55 to 66.  It mostly depends on the owner and what show it is.  I went to west yellowstone last weekend and was the only imperial there.  Other years there were several.  Most of us owners of the imperials have other cars.  I take my furd to many shows because it is set up for that type of thing.  The 55 is bone stock and has no chance in winning anything.  I have made best in show twice with the furd.  The others i know with imperials have other cars too.  I think this is the reason we dont see our beloved imperial in the car show.  It is too bad all of the owner knew about some of these shows and have 100 or so show up.  Now that is an idea i would love to try but it would have to be within driving distance of my home.

The Central New York MoPar Assoc. had their show 2 weeks ago.  There were 310 MoPars which included my '65 Crown convt and a '38 Imperial 4dr plus alot of Chargers, Roadrunners, Furys and on and on.  It is great to see a show of 310 cars under the MoPar banner.

Hello fellow Imperialistic members. Here's the beef! I go to a local shopping center every week to see the classic car show. What I see are many muscle cars and few classic Caddys or Lincolns. I've never saw any Chrysler Imperials ,but tonight I did see a 1957- 300. It made me think either these cars did not stand the test of time or they are just not desirable enough to keep them alive. I even went to a local booth there where he sold toy cars (Hot Wheels/ models). I asked him if he had any Chrysler Imperials and he said  no I don't- you?re the first person to ask for them in a long time. Looking around for myself he did have one on the table - the "Green Hornet" imperial- pathetic or what!! I'm so disappointed to this end- that no one knows of an Imperial or Chrysler as a Classic American car. And fellows, as we go to meet are maker so too will the Legacy of our Imperials. -Unfortunately and a sad TRUISM - Anthony

P.S. Let's face it , 40 years from now or soon the classic cars at these shows will be Toyota's, Lexus and Honda's, Volvos, Infiniti etc.
