Re: IML: 66 imperial camshaft/lifters

I don't know about that. I put a Summit cam in my 72 Imperial 440 when I rebuilt it a year ago along with some porting of the heads using templates from Mancini. This cam is a little stonger than the late 60's performance cam used in the Roadrunners, etc . I am very happy with this cam using an AVS and freeflow dual exhaust system. Car performs normal at low speeds and really hauls when you put your foot down.I have left more than a few surprised people in the dust on the highway.

The replies are correct on where you can find the engine rebuild parts at
NAPA or the such.

In our area you can give the short block to a machine shop to get the work
done for around $900 to a $1000.

Many owners make a mistake at this point and want to switch out the cam for
better performance. If you lean to this idea, use only an RV style of cam due
to the weight of the car.
