Very, very easy.  You are probably trying to take out the switch.  Not a good idea.  Take out the whole bracket that holds the switch by loosening the nut that holds it in.   Get a bright light and shine it toward the switch and you will see what to do.  Mount the new switch into the bracket and reverse the procedure.
