RE: IML: Mistaking Identity: An Imperial for a Cadillac/Lincoln insult

That’s why I got a ’62 LeBaron.  They don’t have the “Imperial” script on the front fender!

There must be something about the script "Imperial" on the front fenders of my 62. They always generate instant dyslexia on passersby, because a majority of people read them as "Impala".

List,

Most people, when referring to something that is like a Cadillac, would think that they would be giving you a very sincere compliment, not an insult.

Cadillac for many years, and perhaps still, led the luxury car field in units produced, and was advertised as "The Standard of the World".
