I can see where that has happened, although it
hasn't happened to me yet. I went to look at a 1953 Chevy pickup severa
years ago and the guy told me a story about being pulled over for only having
one tail light. He told the local cop (young guy) it has only had one tail
light, came from the factory that way. The cop didn't believe him,
wouldn't look it up and gave him a ticket. So the guy goes to court
and in the mean time he found the vehicle code section which says vehicles made
before some date only need to have one tail light, goes in and shows the
judge the vehicle section. The judge already knew it though, and after
embarrassing the cop dismissed the citation.

Just an interesting note on seat-belts. My Wife, and I have been stopped
2 times, by local police, for seat belt infractions in our 77 Dodge Van. Which
was only equipped with lap belts, (which we were wearing) The officers that
stopped us, thought Every thing had shoulder belts. They were younger than the
van!!.Just thought you'd get a rise out of that. Ya'll have a nice day. Dave
