[RE]Re: IML: Imperial hearse

I get the same comment (and heebiejeebies) with my '67 LeBaron, originally sold in Vineland, NJ (close to where the Sopranos takes place), was stored in a (south!) Phila. warehouse for nearly 15 years, and was discovered with the trunk luck missing, and a locked glove box sans key. The black exterior/red interior combination adds to the mob mystique. Wear on driver and opposite passenger seats suggest that it was a (guido?) "driven" car. Not to mention that the title was signed over in 1981 and not registered again until I did so in 1996.

I was advised not to bring the car back to NJ (it's kept in Wash. DC now) and haven't done so.

It never fails to elicit comments at shows, I just laugh with them and share the "mafia funeral barge" nickname.

I've gotten the heebie jeebies for the two or three times I've heard that remark from an older person. It comes out so automatically, that it makes you wonder if they've actually put their commentary to the test. I always think of that scene from the movie Goodfellas - yeesh!Chris Middlebrook1962 Custom Southampton--- On Wed 11/01, < Crestonave@xxxxxxx > wrote:

Whenever I open the trunk of my '68 for someone who hasn't seen it before, the person invariably comments about how many bodies it could hold - and all this with no modifications!Tom68 Convert60 NYer Coupe
