IML: Gas 'Shelf' Life

Imperialists,

As a resident of the Northeast where we are virtually forced into hibernation for the love/sake of the car, this recent discussion concerning additives, etc., has left me perplexed as to exactly how long gas may lay 'dormant'.  Understanding through the discussion that less stored is better and additives (I'm guessing at least a stabilizer in the proper ration for starts of 4 months between or more?) aren't necessarily helpful, how long can one reasonably expect, say, 10 gallons of 93 octane name brand fuel, at a relatively constant 50 degree storage temperature and low humidity, to perform without concern?

Respectfully,

ybshore
