Re: IML: Fuel Tank - checking the sending unit

I just did what Michael suggested and I get about 15 ohms
resistance and nothing happens when I lift the float as
though the tank is filling.
I'll bet I need a new sender. Can these be repaired?
Lupe,

The Imperial is not the same for 67 and 68. There is a
relay under the
dash that controls the low fuel signal and effects the
operation of the
gauge. If you do find you need a sending unit do not buy
the generic
Chrysler one that is frequently sold on ebay and my other
Mopar places. It
will not work properly on an Imperial due to the low fuel
sentry relay.
