RE: IML: Towing travel trailer with 1968 Crown Convertible...

Rob!

That's a great idea to have the plate flip down... I'll take a look at the possibilities, but for now the plan is to have the receiver poke out underneath the license plate.

Javier,

I have a Valley Odyssey brake controller and I am very happy with it. It's
not one of the cheaper ones out there (about $150 list but I found it
advertised online tonight at $109), but it had the best reviews when I went
looking for one two years ago. Sorry it is not wired into my LeBaron.

Will the receiver be hanging below the bumper? I toyed with the idea of
having one fabricated to come out behind the rear license plate, then use a
spring loaded hinge for the license plate to access it. Similar to the gas
filler access on '70's B-bodies.

Roger!

In the thread about towing, you mention:

"I also have an Dealers Towing Brochure on the 1967's that state with the
OEM Towing Package ( $53.55 ) it will pull 5500 pounds."

Where'd you find that?  I'd love to see a copy of the brochure so I can make
sure I approximate the tow package. I'm sure there are other things in there
aside from a transmission cooler. Can you identify what made up the towing
package?

I FINALLY found a hitch fabricator willing to make the hitch for me and the
airstream arrives on Sunday. YIPPEE!  Now I just need to find the wiring
diagram to make sure the 7 point plug is set up correctly.  Also befuddled
by which electric brake controller and where to connect it/mount it.

Any ideas?
