IML: Killing Rust on chromed bumpers/elsewhere

1. Soak entire rotted area in vinegar for 48-72
hours. A garbage bag lashed around a bumper leaned
vertically against a wall will keep the vinegar on the
metal without requiring too much volume. Have an exit
plan on the used liquid and use the thickest plastic
that you can find.

2. Blast with a high-pressure jet of water every 24
hours and scrub vigorously with steel wool or SOS pad
to reveal bare, clean, unrusted metal.

3. Paint with multiple coats to seal out
oxygen/water. Catayzed auto paint will be more
durable than something like spray paint.

Your other option is to wire wheel the hell out of the
rusted areas and then apply SEM Rust Mort and/or
Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator.

If you have OCD about the rust, you can do a
vinegar/Rust Mort/Encapsulator combo. The plastic
trim will probably disintegrate before your bumper
does if you do that.
