IML: RE:IML- Sedan or southampton?

The 1957 through 1959 sedans in all series were what today would be known as
a six-window sedan; I do not recall whether Chrysler used this designation
in labeling or advertising Imperial sedans before the term was employed for
'65 and '66 New Yorker six-window sedans, but other car lines did use the
designation, such as the Cadillac and Buick 4-door hard-tops in the
Fleetwood and Limited lines. In the Imperial, the rear quarter-window is not
in the door, but behind it. I once had a very nice 1957 LeBaron sedan in
black with the Grey wool broadcloth upholstery that I wish I had never
allowed out of my possession. I felt (and STILL feel) that in the LeBaron
series, the six-window sedan was a more sophisticated "almost limousine"
look than a sportier hard-top, though I love those, also. As I have stated
here before, ANY Imperial of any year, body-style, or series trumps any
other vehicle of ANY year or style!
