in NY over 4500 lbs basicly doubles the registration fee.

If you can get them to change it, you should!

It should be as you noted, at least for make and model. Bring something in
that shows Imperial was a division of Chrysler CORP and not a model of the
Chrysler DIVISION.

I¹m not sure about the gross weight figure, but Gross Weight = Curb Weight + Payload (passengers+max cargo). Essentially the Gross Weight is the most the
car and its contents might weigh when fully laden.
