Re: IML: 1959 parts for 1960

Ditto to what Richard and Robert said.  It's a steal at $500.  All that exterior trim will net you more than what you paid for the car.

Hi Donn,

I think Robert is right, if you have the space to store it it is a bargain.  Parts cars are the best resource for your '60.  However, there is basically no trim that is interchangeable.  It looks the same in many cases but almost never is.  There are a number of rare trim clips, like around the windshieldIf, that you will definately need.  If you need, or think you may in the future need, mech. than this is a steal.  Now me, I like to play in any old dirty Imperial.  You can easily recoup the $500 by selling parts on ebay then the rest is gravy.  The '59 looks to ba a good complete car at a give away price.

Hi Donn,

I think it is worth the $500 investment.
Ok, you can't use the interior bits and pieces, for e.g. the dash totally
differs from the one in your 60.

But think of all those drive train parts to start with, engine, tranny and
rear axle should be the same for 59 and 60.

And ever tried to find a spare set of brake drums lately???
Or a spare starter motor (always handy when your original one caughts fire
like mine did 2 weeks ago..).
Or what about a spare exhaust manifold for both sides?
My left one (driverside) was broken (also two weeks ago) and I am still
praying that the workshop can weld it succesfully.

If you have the room and the money, go for it!

Good luck,

Rob
