Re: IML: rings for a 413

Charles, you should be able to find a single moly premium ring set. However they may only be available in a .030-.040" over size. You didn't specify the bore size. The standard cast rings break in quickly, and thats why rebuilders tend to use them. The moly rings take a little longer to seat, and seal but will take more abuse from an over-heat, or detonation. The best source for the moly rings, would be a custom engine builder. No matter which rings you choose, cleaning the cylinders, and block after machine work is MOST important. An engine cleaning brush kit and hot soapy water, are mandatory. It takes us almost 2hrs to clean a block and crank, before assembly begins.Nobody said it was easy, or fun but it is important.Ya'll have a nice day, Dave.
