IML: 58 Imperial Starter Switch Problem

Hello;
Anyone familiar with the starter switch system on a
58, that may suggest a solution to an intermittent
problem on mine?
Occasionally the startser (neutral) button will not
run the starter - no response.
Pushing one of the other transmission buttons, they
going back to the neutral button resolves the problem.
It is touh to diagnose as it is proetty infrequest. I
don't want to get stranded soemwhere if this "fix"
stops working. Any suggestions?
