That makes it a little easier to find a suitable replacement. I used Auto Zone in Frisco, TX recently and found that a suitable replacement for a 1034 is an 1157. The map/courtesy and dome lamp 1004 was still available off the shelf. Joe S.
The 1034 is still available - I went into the NAPA for some for my '67 Polara, and they had them on the shelf. They could get more, too.
