[RE]IML: Carlisle

Tom - I think you have your Mark's mixed up. I met you at Robert Soule's in Chattanooga over Memorial Day weekend, and have a black 67 Imperial LeBaron, not a 300 (although it would be nice to have one of those as well). Alarming story about your muffler/brake lines, I had new duals installed last fall - ZOINKS!

Wondering why you all left early on Saturday, glad to hear all went well getting repairs in Carlisle (that would have been a tall order with the greedy dealers around the DC area.......) and got home safe/sound.

Enjoyed seeing your beautiful Imperial again though, turnout was pretty good overall, and weather not bad either. I had a nice time and managed to find a couple rarities on the trip, very worthwhile.

Take care and Happy Imperal-ing to you.

Mark Jefferson .

Hey Mark,

Sorry we didn’t get to talk; your car sure is looking great. It was the

nicest 300 I saw.

Yes, we left about noon on Saturday; had a family situation that needed

attention. I brought a friend from my home town and he had a lot of stuff he

was looking for and was also trying to sell some stuff so we didn’t have

much down time. The Imperial did well, except for a leak in the brake

system. On Friday morning, we spent 4 hours at the Goodyear dealer in

Carlisle and found that the muffler guy had installed the left muffler on

top of the rear brake lines and pinched them to the point the ruptured; so

no brakes. Almost had a wreck on the way to the Goodyear store, but got them

fixed. Always something. Car ran good though except the Freon leaked out of

the A/C so it was warm, to say the least. I am taking it back to the guy

that installed the unit today and I think he understands I am not too happy.

We got home late Saturday night and all is well. I trust you made the

shorter trek home without incident. Was your son with you? Seems like a nice

young mad with his head on straight.

Best wishes.

Tom

Subject: IML: 56 Turn Signal Switch

A month or so ago I inquired about finding a turn signal switch for my 56

Southampton. Someone gave me a part number and, of course, I have misplaced

it. I would appreciate if I could get that number again. I promise, I won't

lose it.

Thanks. Tom Cox
