Re: IML: Exhaust Picture Needed/ Reverse Button Not Engaging When Engine is Hot

Graham,
What happens when the engine is hot and you push the drive button first, then the reverse button?  Does reverse engage?

Subject: IML: Exhaust Picture Needed/ Reverse Button Not Engaging When Engine is Hot

Fellow Imperialists,

I wanted to clarify that when the engine is hot, the Reverse button will
not engage. I push the Reverse button, and it will go in, but the
Neutral button does not pop out. Also, the transmission does not shift
gears; it stays in neutral. Now, with both Neutral and Reverse pushed
in, if I push the Neutral button, the Reverse button pops out. Now in
Neutral, if I try to shift into any other gear, it works correctly. The
button goes in, Neutral pops out, and the transmission shifts gears.

If the engine is cold, the push buttons work as they are supposed to.
Reverse pushes in, Neutral pops out and the transmission shifts into
reverse.

Thanks,
Graham Quimby
