Since you have to ask the question, the proper thing for you to do is to remove the front sheetmetal--fenders, core support--everything in front of the firewall. Remove the engine and transmission as a unit, and take it apart on the floor. Reassemble it the same way. There are people who can put it back together while lying on their back in the dark, at 2 in the morning, but that is really tough the first time you do it. Things go so much easier and better if you don't have to drape your body over the fender, and stand on your head to work things into place. Removing the front end sheetmetal saves wear and tear on the sheetmetal and your body.
