IML: 1960 LeBaron A/C question

I met someone whose dad owned a 1960 LeBaron with the a/c in the trunk.

Is this possible? I thought the 1960 Imperials came with compressor mounted on

the engine block, like mine.

 

Maybe he's confusing the a/c with the rear defogger?

 

Just curious.
