I agree with that its more important every day to be able to react faster to the idiots on the road especialy if you like to be able to preserve while enjoying your classic

Don't forget that in the late 50's there was a lot less trafic
People where polite to eachother on the road.
And all the other cars around had marginal brakes at best.
If you have a real original car and drive it like a old fart
You could be happy with the original brakes but only with the original asbestion lining.
I had the brakes all original and it was good enough only when I relined the shoes with the not asbestion lining the trouble started, fading after 2 or 3 times braking and glazing and cracking of the lining.
When you make the best out of the 392 HEMI (like I'm doing) you need better brakes, better suspension, better stearing, and W rated tires.
