I can probably answer that.
The 65 ghias were built on 64 frames and in 66 the
folks who had the cash could update their limos to
look just like the new 66's simply by switching the
stock 65 grille for a 66 grille so it seems that most
of them had that upgrade done in 66 or 67 I imagine.

(VERY) happy to own a 65 Ghia myself although this one
is in much better shape then mine!
