Re: IML: +++ CHRYSLER LIMOUSINES +++Trans-axles

I can't resist...
I had 1986 Chrysler LeBaron with a 2400 cc Chrysler engine rather than the Mitsubishi engine. We quite driving it after it went over 300,000 km (187,500 miles). It used to burn a bit of oil. Other than that, the only repairs were normal maintenance. Then, we drove a 1991 Fifth Avenue, 3.3 litre V6. We had to have the transaxle rebuilt at about 120,000 km. After that, we had no problems. Again, we drove the car until it had over 300,000 km. The only issue with that car was the rear suspension which we replaced with the standard transmission.

Our 1992 Imperial is my wife's daily driver. Mileage is too low to tell if it will have any major issues but so far, so good. I wish I could say the same for my 1999 GMC Suburban, nice truck but high maintenance. I know of most the issues that pop up in these old Chrysler products but, so far, we have been able to avoid most of them.
