Henry,
$2000 sounds a bit high. I had Dennis restore my 300H wheel exactly a year ago and it cost me $1175 with return freight. The 300H wheel has a chrome rim with a clear top section. He had to remove the old plastic, rechrome the rim, and mold two separate castings, clear and gold. The gold is the color of the plastic, not painted. Then he sanded the mold lines and polished it. The finished product is perfect in every way. He guarantees the wheel will never crack or turn yellow as the originals did. I couldn't be happier with the job he did on the wheel. I can send a picture off-list, of it installed, to anyone who's interested. Apparently, the file is too large to send through this list.
