That's even further back than I thought. Now that you mention it, I 
have an advertisement for a 1932 Imperial Sedan that proclaims the 
advantages of Floating Power and (I think) Free Wheeling! I should dig 
that out and see what else it describes that we might or might not 
recognize today.

   Chrysler first used the term "Floating Power" in 1931. The trade 
name represented the industry's first attempt at scientific placement 
of engine mountings to accomodate engine movement.
