IML: FLOATING POWER

This is from the Allpar website in a writeup about the 1931 Plymouth PA model:

"The big news in the engine department was not really the engine, but rather the method of mounting the engine into the chassis. "Floating Power" it was called, and it would become a Plymouth (and Chrysler Corporation) trademark. Interestingly enough, the Plymouth was the first car in the Corporation to use Floating Power but it would soon be adopted not only across the board in the Corporation's own cars within 6 months, but other makers would adopt it (paying royalties for its use) as well."

Floating Power may have been a registered trademark at one time. I don't recall what year Chrysler developed the Floating Power engine mount, but it was significantly different then anything else used at the time. The big advantage was no metal to metal contact & this cut down on engine vibration.

I'm planning on ordering a set of Motor Mounts plus a Tranny Mount for my '66 Lebaron. The ad I was looking at from 'Imperial Services' mentions the motor mounts are "60-66 Floating Power Engine Mounts".....was this just the term used for these parts back then?...or are these NOT the motor mounts I need for my Imperial?

That is the term and these are the correct items.
