IML: '66 Dash Wood

It's called "claro walnut" and is thin veneer bonded to a metal backing. You can pry off the metal pieces and possibly re-finish the veneer - I did that on my '66.

There's good advice on the website archive - just search "claro walnut imperial" on google.

Does anyone have an idea on what kind of wood is on the glove compartment of my 1966 Chrysler Imperial. It's faded and peeling. Is there a vendor to use to replace it, or do I buy whatever kind of wood grain it is and install it myself. Curious!!!!!
