Re: [FWDLK] license plates

All,

In Ohio there are two antique tag options: Historical tags and Model Year
tags. There are restrictions to the useage of the vehicle. 25 years old,
solely collector's item and are used for participation in club activities,
exhibitions, tours, parades, etc. but NOT for general transportation.
Historical plates are valid without renewal for the life of the vehicle,
except when there is a change in ownership.

For model year tags, you muct first register for Historical tags, obtain a
two plate set fo the model year tags in serviceable condition (restored to
correct appearance if necessary), submit a copy (xerox or photo) of the
plates and a copy of the Historical license registration card. You have to
have at least one of the Historical tags and the Historical registration
card in the car even with the model year tag and registration card.

The fees for this vary as to whether you have current registration on the
car or not. The base fee for Historical tags is $15.75. Add $5.00 if the
vehicle is currently registered (why?). Add $3.54 if registering for model
year tags at the same time.

You must have proof of insurance.
