[FWDLK] Seatbelts in 55/56 Plymouths

I have done this on two of my 55 Plymouth 4-dr sedans. I installed
three-point retractables from a Mitsubishi pickup truck. The 56 Plymouth
is the same as the 55. I MIG-welded a 7/16" fine-thread nut to a larger
heavy steel fender washer. Then I plasma cut a hole in the B-pillar 6"
above shoulder height to allow the nut to go in and sink the washer flush.
I then MIG-welded the washer all around its outside edge to the B-pillar.
Did the same on the floorpan for the other anchors. I selected the spots
on the floor that have wells and channels pressed in them because these
points resists flexing.

The retractor mechanism is the tougher job. Its anchor needs to go high
enough to allow the bench seat side fenders to clear. The profile of the
retractor needs to be under 3" to clear the seat back.

Tou can can me to chat about this at 408-897-3100 (California).
