[FWDLK] 55-56 Disk Brakes

A lot of you might have seen the article of disk brakes in a recent issue of
Mopar Action Magazine. It applies mostly to newer muscle cars but the
article got me thinking that some swapping of parts might be feasable on the
kingpin suspension cars as well. I wrote to Richard Eherenberg the technical
editor at MA to see if he had any thoughts on this issue. Below is a copy of
my e-mail and his resopnse. Unfortunatly no real new information has
surfaced.
I thought some of you might be interested in discussion.

Also I found the book he suggested "How to Build Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge
Hot Rods by Leroi Tex Smith, Rich Johnson 1990"
at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/087938459X/qid=933167686/sr=1-4/002-87768

Does anyone have this book, I don't mind buying it but would like to know if
it is helpful before laying out the $.
Scott

NO. One suggestion is to use the comple K-member, suspension, brakes, and
all, from a F/J/M-body (transverse torsion bars). But nobody is saying that
this is a 10-minute swap.

>2. Do you know of any other way to get disk brakes on this vehicle?

See tex Smith's book "Hot to Build Hot Rod Plymouth / Dodge / Chrysler" (or
some similar name) book for lots of ideas.
