Re: [FWDLK] step plates

I'm sure most of us have had this problem, but I found that the dirtiest,
grungiest looking step plates actually cleaned up ok, as long as they didn't
"break" when I lightly sandblasted them. The ones in my '57 Fury look like
new now, but were very ugly to start with. Since the best ones I could find
still had a lot of oxidation and corrosion on the inside bottom edge, I cut
off the bottom 1/4 inch, sandblasted, and repainted, and since that bottom
edge is under the carpet anyway, it's nearlyl impossible to tell anything
used to be wrong with them.

I think the chances of finding step plates in good to nice condition,
whether in a parts car, swap meet, etc, are about slim to none.
