Re: [FWDLK] Part number reply

The difference between the early and late '55 Plymouth front bumpers is in
the mounting holes for the license plate bracket. The early version (the
only one used in Canada) has slots, while the late one has round holes.

The part number 1553852 was used on Canadian-built 1955 and
1956 Plymouths. It was also used on American 1955
Plymouths up to serial number 13851640 (P26) and 15694162
(P27) for Detroit production. This information was gained
from the 1955 edition of Chrysler of Canada parts book.
No serial number break is given for LosAngeles or
Evansville plants.

The American "after" part number is 1634054, which was used
on all American 1956 Plymouths as well.

  Thanks to all

The 1553852 part number has been identified as a 56 plymouth front bumper
(canadian built) although I don't think there is any difference on bumpers
between Canadian or US. If anyone knows if there is a difference please let
me know. These bumpers are available (at a reasonable price) if anybody
needs them, just email me.

  Dieter
