I'm experiencing a problem with my 59 Desoto. Just got it back from full
restoration. Usually starts right up runs great. Sometimes after I move it
out of the garage to do some cleaning or whatever it will not start up again.
It turns over, gas is going into the carb but there is a dark liquid that
smells like gas leaking out of the base of the carb where it mounts to the
intake manifold. I was told it was just some of the glue from the gasket and
that I flooded the carb out. I don't buy that I know how to start a car! I
usually give it 1 or 2 taps on the accelerator and she starts right up. Am I
doing something wrong. The last time this happened it started the next
morning. Normally there is nothing leaking out of the bottom of the carb only
when I have this trouble.
