Re: [FWDLK] ebay 57 Dodge donut?

Don't know what picture showed it but there was no "donut"
on the red Coronet - unless the reference was to the mini
spare in the trunk.

"Donuts" - as far as I know, are usually synonymous with a
"continental" or spare tire mounted externally on the rear
of the car...

As to the car itself, it appears that the upgrades,
regardless of engine choice will improve the drivability of
the car and to his credit the exterior retains an original
appearance (with the exception of the shaved hood, missing
medallian in the grille, paint color and wheel details).

Hey, this would add some color to the Chrysler Museum! I
wouldn't mind seeing it there or somewhere else along with
other modified '57 Dodges. I even saw one in AZ last year
that was made into a camper! A Custom Royal front clip with
a genuine South Bend, IN camper glued on the back.

Saw a dark aqua '57 Royal 4dr sedan in NY at a show in '97
that was jacked up like an off-roader with 4WD - and it too
retained an original exterior appearance. It's interesting
to see how people who put so much time, money and effort
into modifying these cars mechanically always keep the
"Look" of the car.

There are several people bidding on this one so it must
appeal to some of the folks out there!
