Re: [FWDLK] Forward Look License Plate

I agree that the plate in this auction is a modern reproduction, and is not
worth nearly the price the winning bidder will pay.

However, about eight years ago, I was still trying to find a pair of air
cleaners for my '57 Fury, and in following up a lead, I found a man in Mc
Minnville, OR who not only sold me his extra set of air cleaners, with a
one-year money-back return guarantee (very nice of him as I was nearly broke
at the time, but I knew I'd never find another set of air cleaners probably
so I took the plunge), but he also showed me his light purple 300C
convertible (which rarely sees the light of day) and he threw in one of
these ForwardLook license plates. He says it is an original one, from the
era, but who knows for sure. I do know that it predates the current cheap
looking one currently being auctioned on ebay. The detailed version of this
story is probably my favorite parts-hunting story in the putting together of
Mr. Finzzz.
