The only model of the '55 DeSoto was the original promotional model made by
JoHan in 1955. It was a Fireflite 4 dr sedan, and a very nice model. Because
JoHan revised the original tooling to make the '56 DeSoto, the '55 could not
be re-issued like the '56 was. Hopefully, we can convince one of the 1/43
scale manufacturers to do a series of '55 DeSotos.

There seems to be plenty of 56 Desoto models on ebay, but I never see 55
models. Did any model manufacturer make them?
Has anyone "converted" a 56 model into a 55? Seems like a new grill and a
gentle massage to the wings ought to do it.
